Today at 11:00 a.m. the American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS) opened for students hoping to attend medical school in 2012.  I logged on, and started filling it out almost as soon as it opened this morning.  There are a ton of different sections, and honestly I had to take some time to look at the official guide to understand what exactly was being asked for.  Its a bit nerve racking, but also really exciting.  My grades for my last semester still haven't been released, and I haven't finished my personal statement, so there is still lots that I can't do yet.  I also still have to make my list of schools apply to.  I will keep you all updated on everything, and good luck to anyone else who is using the AMCAS this cycle! Also the Student-Doctor Network has a ton of helpful threads about the AMCAS, personal statements, letters of recommendation, and entering extracurricular activities, etc.  It is worth reading through, and the website is linked over on the right side.
